Karankawa Sun Room

Experience a presence of history, being nestled in the side of McGloin Bluff where the still present freshwater springs once provided drinking water for the early inhabitants - the Karankawa Indians, the first Spanish sailor (1515), and the land grant empresario, James McGloin (1830s).  Shades of a time gone by when the pleasure boat "The Japonica:, would ferry people between Corpus Christi and Harbor Inn Hotel.  This inn was touted as, in its heyday, as having the best fishing and bathing on the Texas Coast.  The room is fashioned after traditional design gently mixed with cultural beliefs.

Queen Size Bed with rich Pinewood furnishing. and native Indian accents.  Large windows keep the space open and airy.

Aranzazu Pass Room

This room's theme is based on the Spanish galleons that visited and settled the area long ago.

The decor is rich with cherry wood furnishings, scented aromatic candles, scarlet-lined curtains and breath-taking views of sunrises and sunsets over Corpus Christi Bay the ship channel and the skyline of Corpus Christi in the distance.

The Aranzazu Pass Room is a perfect place for private reflection, study, reading or

catching up on sleep.

Estes Flats Room

(Special Loft Room)

Hemmingway would have felt right at home in the Estes Flat Room!

It is a real-life popular fishing hole here in the Texas Coastal Bend. From this spot, you'll pull out trophy-size redfish and experience the fast fishing action that only a large Speckled Trout can deliver.  Flounder also abound in our clean bays and estuaries.  Picture yourself on a boat with a light wind blowing in your face.  Your line's in the water, everything is quiet...when suddenly you shout "Fish On!"  The Estes Flats Room is a fun and adventurous place!

Wading & pier fishing is good all year. If you'd really like to get out on the

water for deep sea or bay fishing, do

hire a USCG licensed captain.

McGloin Bluff Room

(Irish Empresario James McGloin)

"The first burst of color in the spring of 1856 was fading, but summer's green colored the tree-lined land that led to the new dwelling house of Empresario James.  He originally had set-up camp in the Copano Bay area (about 35 nautical miles up the coastline), but due to the lack of fresh drinking water and at the urging of the ship's priest, they moved south into the Corpus Christi Bay and settled at a bluff that the priest had mentioned.  There they found fresh water springs and the area was renamed after McGloin.  He was the first Irish settler along our part of the coast.
